On the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, is it the Hungry Ghost Festival or the Filial Piety Festival? What is the relationship between the two? Is it a Taoist or Buddhist festival?
Providing relief to hungry ghosts, offering clothes and food, the story of Mulian saving his mother, opening the gates of hell, Emperor Shun’s filial piety, the birth of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva, the Ullambana Festival, and the birth of Earth Officer. Why are these activities converged on this day?
